One Day on the Moon Landing – July 20, 1969

If I could go back in time for one day, I would choose July 20, 1969. That was the day people first walked on the Moon. I would go to NASA’s control room in Houston, Texas.
The room would be full of people. They would wear shirts and ties. The air would smell of coffee and smoke. Everyone would be very excited and nervous.
I would sit quietly and watch the big screens. Then I would hear the voice from space: “The Eagle has landed!” Everyone would jump and shout. Some people would cry with happiness.
Later, I would go outside. I would see families watching TV in shops. Children would ask, “Can I be an astronaut?” I would look up at the Moon and smile. Two men were walking there right now!
At night, I would drink a cold Coke with strangers. We would talk about the future. I would feel very proud to be human.
When the day ended, I would come home. But I would never forget that special day. It would show me that big dreams can come true.
