One morning, I woke up and realized I could hear everyone’s inner voice.
At first, I thought I was dreaming. I heard my mom thinking, “I hope she eats her breakfast today.” Then I heard my brother thinking about video games. It was strange, but also exciting.
When I went to school, I heard my teacher’s inner voice saying, “I hope the students understand today’s lesson.” My best friend was thinking, “I’m nervous about the math quiz.” I smiled at her and said, “Don’t worry, you’ll do great!” She looked surprised.
All day, I heard people’s thoughts—happy, sad, funny, or worried. It made me understand them better. I helped a boy who felt lonely and shared my lunch with a girl who was hungry.
By the end of the day, I felt tired but also proud. Knowing what people really felt helped me become kinder.
The next morning, the voices were gone. But I never forgot how it felt to truly hear others.
