People Can Hear Me

One day, I woke up thinking my life would be normal, but there was a twist. I was thinking about one of the games I had played on my computer, next to my friend, when he suddenly asked me about it. I was utterly shocked when I heard him. I asked, “How did you know about it?” He replied, “I heard a voice come from you.”

At first, I was a bit surprised. I really tried hard not to think about anything in my mind, fearing it would be heard by others. As the day went on, I began adapting to this strange situation, learning to control my thoughts so they wouldn’t be overheard. The school day went smoothly after I got used to not thinking aloud in my mind.

After school, I came home and talked with my mom for a bit. Later, I visited the house we were going to move into next week. It was pretty close to the school and also near one of my best friends. Nothing much happened for the rest of the day—I ate dinner, did my homework, and went to bed.
