Population of India and China Through Years 2000 -2050

The graph provides information about the population increase in two countries , China and India,  between 2000-2050

In 2000, there were more people living in China than in India. In  2000 population of the people living in China was 1.25 billion, while India’s population was about 1 billion. Between 2000 and 2010, there is an exponential increase of population in both China and India with India’s rate of increase in population being higher than China. There was a 0.2 billion rise in the number of Indian people while China’s population increased by 0.1 billion and reached to 1.35 billion.

India and China’s population is estimated to increase exponentially between years 2010 and 2030. In 2030 India’s population is expected to catch up with China’s population at 1.45 billion and continue increasing at  a similar rate as prevoiusly.  China, on the other hand,  will see a decrease from the interception point onwards .

Finally, over the 50-year period, India  will  experience a steady growth in its population and overtake China in 2030.  In 2050  India is estimated to have a population of  1.6 billion while China’s  population will be about 1.4 billion.
