I opened my eyes. There were scientists around me. Some were panicking, some were cheering in excitement, and some were scared. They picked me up and put me in a tube. I tried getting out of it but they pushed me further into the tube. The scientists pressed some buttons and said “Subject Leo is ready” which made me feel something was wrong inside me. I didn’t realize because I was young but they were actually doing experiments on me. When the day ended, they locked me in a cage and made a few exam-like tests on me like puzzles. They did this every day except every time I woke up, they made me smell some kind of gas. They started talking to me and I could understand some of the words that they spoke. I also learned my name which was Leo. But a few days later I learned that I wasn’t the only experiment at that lab, there were others just like me, that looked like me.
4 years passed and I got to know about the other experiments. Which I am going to call my friends from now on. Their names are Robin, Gary and Birch. 2 years ago, when we first met, we knew basic English so we could communicate with each other. We were known as Metal-Sapiens to scientists. We are the same species as humans, but different Genus. When we were 6 and started to question our existence, they told us that we were a new and important species that could cure cancer in some way. We had a different metabolism and they were working on that. They also told us there were other Genus of us that were able to cure cancer. We could help them for sure but they didn’t care about us at all. We didn’t have any rights. That night, we decided to escape the lab on that night with my friends. We got the keys for our cages from scientists when they were feeding us. When everyone went home, I unlocked everyone’s cages and we started running. We couldn’t figure out where to sneak out since we haven’t been outside the lab so we ran instead. Some guards saw us and started chasing us. The scientists were chasing us with the cops even though they went to home. We found the exit a few minutes later it was already blocked by cops. We realized how important we were for them but how they didn’t care about our lives. So, we broke out of the window instead.
We ran to the nearest forest that we could find and gathered to make a warm place.
-“Remember scientist word?” I asked. No one answered until I made them realize.
“Scientists tell there are different Genus of us. Different Genus are also probably having pain just like we.”
One of my friends said: “How we know other Genus live where? Aren’t human try and stop us?”
-“Human try stop us but if we tell them maybe they understand. Leo will talk human after we save different Genus.
We then went back to our old lab to learn where another Genus might be and we got what we wanted. We heard someone talking to a scientist though a phone saying that we escaped and they needed to examine the ones at there. The guy said he will be there in 17 minutes and started walking to his car. He started the engine and we jumped to the back of his car. 17 minutes later we were at the other lab. We found the other Genus and broke their cages but they started attacking us. They were way much bigger and stronger than us but a lot dumber so we beat them easily and we told them what was going on. They believed to us and we ran back to the forest. With the new Genus, we were 18 members in total. We had to save another Genus if there were any. Metal-Sapiens and Galvanized-Sapiens were now working together.
3 whole years later we could speak proper English and tried to approach humans as much as possible but every time we tried to, they shot our members. We saved a lot more Genus called: Plastic-Sapiens, Planteus-Sapiens, Titanium-Sapiens. We are 1045 members. All different Genus has unique abilities like Plastic-Sapiens: They are fast, or Titanium-Sapiens: They are hard to hurt. These might be useful since there are soldiers trying to hunt down us coming to our forests. They know where we live and we might need to fight.
One day when I was eating, I heard someone shouting “HUMANS ARE HERE!!!” I ran with an army of us with me.
We fought for 4 days. Humans were strong. They had weapons and guns. They killed most of us and took the rest to their lab. I fell asleep on the road. I opened my eyes.
