I was startled by a noise coming from outside and ran to the window. I thought the children were just playing a game, but the view I saw from the window shocked me. A woman had been injured by a man with a weapon. I ran to the street at the speed of light, calling an ambulance. I gave her first aid while waiting, and everyone on the street helped me. Thank God, the woman was still alive when the ambulance arrived.
I went to the hospital with her and performed the surgery myself, since I was a doctor. After a few weeks, she got healthier, and the guilty man was arrested. The woman was really kind, so we became friends over time.
Much later, I learned her story. The man who attacked her was actually her elder brother. Their father had always treated them completely differently. He was cheerful and proud of his son, but he treated his daughter like a servant.
