Many people today believe that the world would be a better place if everyone stopped eating meat. It’s a controversial idea, and there are solid arguments on both sides.
One of my friends suggests, “Eating meat is bad for your health.” Frankly, overconsumption of red or processed meat may elevate the risk of certain diseases. A vegetarian diet, if well balanced, can be rich in vitamins, fibre, and antioxidants. People who avoid meat have often much lower rates of heart disease and obesity. However, meat also provides important nutrients such as protein, iron, and creatine, which can be harder to get from plants alone. So, the issue isn’t meat itself, but how much and what kind we eat.
Another friend argues, “Vegetarian diets lack protein.” that is partially true. Even though must legumes contain protein, the amino acids in them which are the building blocks of proteins are different from the ones in red meat. This means less efficient protein so plants aren’t really a good protein source. Protein is an important nutrient so are the amino acids; low consummation of some amino acids may affect the persons health.
In my view, everyone should have a healthy diet but they are the ones who decide if to be vegetarian or not. In addition, the consumption of meat is so large that any person couldn’t affect that, so if you want to eat meat, eat it.
