SOCIAL MEDIA

Today, social media has become almost an essential part of young people’s daily lives. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok allow us to communicate easily, even when we are far away from each other. However, social media also brings some serious problems.

Many young people spend too much time on their phones and do not pay enough attention to their lessons. They often say they will check their phones for just five minutes, but when they look at the clock, they realize that hours have been wasted scrolling on social media.

Another problem is comparison. Many teenagers compare themselves with others when they see perfect photos online. They may feel unhappy if they do not get enough likes or followers, even though most of these photos are edited and do not show real life.

The last problem I would like to mention is socializing. Teenagers often prefer texting instead of talking face to face. As a result, they may find it difficult to communicate when a real person is next to them.

There are many problems caused by social media, but they can be reduced. We can develop hobbies that help us relax and keep us away from our phones. We should also remember that the photos we compare our lives with are often unrealistic. Finally, setting time limits on phone usage can help students focus more on real life and school.

Overall, using social media in a balanced way is the key to a healthier and happier life.
