Special Power

I was startled by the noise coming from outside and ran to the window. I thought the children were only playing a game, but the view I saw shocked me. A woman was being injured by a man with a weapon. I ran to the street at the speed of light, calling an ambulance. I gave first aid while waiting, and everyone in the street helped me. Thank God, the woman was still alive when the ambulance arrived.

I went to the hospital with her and assisted in the surgery since I was a doctor. After weeks, the woman got healthier, and the guilty man was arrested. She was very kind, and we became friends over time. Much later, I learned her story.

The guilty man was her older brother. Their father had treated them very differently—he was cheerful and proud of his son, but he treated his daughter like a servant. Years ago, one day, she had an argument with her father. After a while, it turned into a fight. She pushed him in self-defense, and as he fell to the ground, she saw that her brother had witnessed everything. Terrified, she ran away from home, but her brother searched for her for years, blaming her for their father’s death. And now, he wanted to kill her—but failed.
