You should have at least thought about this question once in your life, but are you still sure that the answer for you is the right one? If I could choose, I would prefer to stop time rather than travel to a time period. Stopping time would give me an incredible ability to stop the world around me to give me a chance to have another perspective on life. Just think about it; you have homework, and you can pause the time and do it whenever you want, or you can pause the time when its a lifetime thing that is happening right now. It could also be helpful in difficult situations, like when you are having an exam and when you need extra time for it.
If we look at the other one (having a time machine), there could be serious problems that will come with that. For example, going to the past could mean dealing with cultures that you don’t know, so it can affect you by your social status. Similarly, travelling to the future could reveal things that we are not ready to see, like the sadness of loved ones or maybe the end of the world. In conclusion, changing time periods might make us feel disconnected from our present lives and the people we love and care about.
Stopping time, however, allows me to stay in my current life while still having a superpower that could be used in many ways. I could help others, avoid mistakes, or just take a break when things get hard. It feels more practical and less risky than having unknown surroundings.
