First of all, I will talk about why peoples stress while doing sports. Peoples often stress at races or risky moves almost everyone knows why we stress while doing risky moves but do not know why we stress in races. Thats because of ambition of winning and that comes from the preparation they do.
Just think you did not train for a race or a competition and you just knew you are going to lose; you are just trying would you panic? Probably not that’s because it’s not your target. But now think you trained so much for a race and it’s very important it’s like a milestone wouldn’t you panic that’s because of how much effort you give it is not only in sports it happens in academic life for example if you do not even care about the exam and do not study you wouldn’t stress but if you study hard and want to get good results in exams you would panic. It also effects your performance very bad so what you should do to not panic. There are several ways like making a totem for example to totem you can wear a bracelet or if you don’t want to make a totem you can talk with your parent or friends to relax. Also, stress is a psychological thing so you can find things to busy your mind and do not think about the thing makes you stressed. By the way stress is not always bad sometimes it makes you make something faster or easier for example if you have a so much homework you should hand in at a near future you would be stressed and try to make it faster but in the other hand it is not useful thing in sports because a little mistake while cycling can cause very big incidents.
If we sum up stress can make you panic but you can control it with totems or talking peoples to relax. Stress can make you perform bad sometimes but sometimes it can help you to make things faster. Also, stress do not only affect your sport life it also effects your academic life so if you can control your stress well you can be successful many things.
