It was just another school day when I woke up to the voice of someone I didn’t recognize. I checked the time — it was a few minutes before my alarm. I shut it off and went into the living room to see who was speaking. What I saw was the most shocking thing I’d ever seen.
My cat, Loki, was meowing at the birds again. But this time, it was as if he were a human trapped in a cat’s body. He was speaking — with an actual human voice! He was angrily yelling at the birds just outside the window:
“Don’t you dare mock me like that! Do you know who I am? How many birds I’ve caught? So many!”
I knew that wasn’t true. In fact, he had been scared of a bird the first time I tried to bring him outside. I thought this was all just a dream, so I quietly went back to bed before Loki noticed and fell asleep again.
