TECHNOLOGY ADDICTION

Hello everyone! Today, I want to talk about digital equality, specifically phone and internet addiction. These issues first negatively affect our psychology, and then our health. So, how does digital addiction begin?

For example, especially for children our age, if we choose the internet over studying, watching videos, or preparing for an important exam, thoughts like “Let me finish this so I can switch to the tablet” start to creep into our minds. These are the first steps of addiction.

In terms of psychology, digital addiction can lead to a feeling of failure. For instance, when a game is lost or an exam is failed, a person can experience deep disappointment. This feeling may lead the person to avoid their responsibilities and play instead of studying. Young children, in particular, may exhibit negative behaviors such as aggression.

Physically, symptoms like eye problems, numbness, excessive fatigue, and boredom can occur. Avoiding time with family or friends and increasing time spent alone are also signs of addiction.

Knowing Our Limits Nobody is asking you to completely quit digital activities. However, if you know your limits, you will not feel pressured by your family or surroundings. What does setting limits mean? After eating, doing your homework, and studying, checking your phone in moderation is key to achieving this balance. No one will get angry about it.

Remember, there is a time and place for everything. If you establish this balance, you can use the digital world healthily, and everything will be just fine.
