Digital addiction has become an important problem rapidly spreading in the globalized world. Our teenagers have more addiction in this topic than other age groups. Social media has important place in digital addiction. Our teenagers are addicted in digital mostly because of the social media. Social media has lots of distraction things and you don’t need to use your brain for it. And our brain wants to be lazy because it designed to be lazy. Because of it we addicted to social media because our brain no needs for work to watch them.
If we don’t want to be addicted in social media or digital things we need to oblige our brains to work hard. If you discipline your brain to work hard you can be successful. You need to do something for discipline your brain.
Firstly, you need to find something like hobby. Try to do this hobby in your free times. If you can’t control yourself, find some friend to do this hobby. If you do that your brain going to think ‘I should do it because my friend is waiting me.’ And it’ll become more easier than before.
Secondly, make a to-do list for some times. If you have free times in your timetable, write your hobby or some things what makes you happy -social media is not included in it- don’t give a free time to your brain if you give that time to your brain, it’s going to want social media or digital things. Because it is addicted to them.
Thirdly, you need to do this plan continuously. If you can do these things for 1 month or some kind of time like that. The thing what you addicted in it before, now brain don’t want it and if you do it, your brain will get bored quickly and your brain becomes to do other things not social media or digital things. But don’t take yourself free because your brain has weak sides too for it.
It has negative sides in yourself, but it has societal sides too. When you look your phone, your attention is on your phone, but other persons -maybe your friends- attention is on you. They want to speak or chat with you, but they can’t because you are in your phone. And they think your phone is more important than them. And they don’t want to meet you again. Or when your family takes your phone, they want to talk with you. But you argue with them because of the phone and your addiction. These things damage your relationships with who likes you.
In conclusion, don’t addict social media or digital devices. If you addicted to them, try to take them away from you. If don’t, ask your parents or teachers to help you. And manage your time correctly. Don’t give a lot of free time to your brain. Because our brains are designed to be lazy.
