Technology: the new socializing technique

Recently, there has been a debate ongoing about whether technology is actually helping us socialize or just putting us in danger. To finally put this question to bed, we made a survey to see what the students thought. All of the information in this article is from the survey.

The most given answer was that it is a piece of cake to socialize with people all over the world.” If there weren’t the internet, it would be hard for me to communicate with my long-distance friend. Another one that was implemented frequently was that people with physical limitations can make friends without having to go out. All they have to do is click a few buttons, and they have a big network!

With these advantages, there are also disadvantages. A common answer that was given is that people are losing their friends for rumors that have spread. “They weren’t real friend anyway, if they believe random rumors on the internet.”. One thing I have heard from the halls is that talking with people on social media is a waste of time. As it takes way too much time to wait for someone’s text, or you’re just texting someone.

In a nutshell, being social on media or trying to make friends isn’t the best way to socialize. With it being such a waste of time and being unsafe for many reasons, we should continue having fun with our friends the traditional way.
