Medicine is usually tested on animals before it is released to the market for human use, but is this really the right thing to do? To answer this question, we have to look at the issue from different sides, because focusing on only one perspective will not give us the correct answer.
On one side, animal testing can be helpful because some animals have biological structures similar to humans. This allows scientists to observe both the intended effects and possible side effects that the medicine might cause in humans. In this way, the medicine becomes safer for people.
However, on the other side, if the medicine does not work as planned and causes problems in the animal’s body, the animal can get sick or even die. That is why many people believe animal testing is wrong.
In my opinion, no animal should lose its life, but no human should get sick because a medicine was not tested. So, I think that instead of using animals, we should create something artificial that replicates the human structure. Then medicines can be tested on that. This would protect both humans and animals.
