One day, I woke up to what I thought would be another boring summer break morning. I had already finished all of my summer homework, so I had nothing to do except stare at screens all day. I rubbed my eyes, forcing myself to get out of bed. Suddenly, I felt like I was forgetting something exciting—something I had been waiting for a long time.
I immediately unplugged my phone from its charger and opened my calendar app. As I scrolled through the months, I finally landed on today’s date, titled “BTS CONCERT DAY!!!” I blinked once, then twice, and finally let out a loud scream.
I rushed to my mom and Alber’s bedroom—Alber is my mom’s boyfriend. I started jumping on the bed, shouting,
“COME ON, YOU SLEEPYHEADS! IT’S THE BIG DAY! THE DAY I MEET MY LOVELIES! THE DAY I GO TO THEIR CONCERT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!!!”
My mom was still trying to sleep, but Alber immediately sat up.
“Wait—the concert is today!?” he said.
“You forgot!?” I asked.
He jumped out of bed and ran to his suitcase while I rushed to my wardrobe. Luckily, my outfit was already prepared. Two days earlier, I had picked out a Jungkook-inspired outfit—trendy, comfy, and totally perfect. Alber’s outfit was fashionable and comfortable too. We grabbed our small suitcases, packed for a two-night stay, and drove to the airport.
At the lounge, I asked him, “Do you think they will like me? Or will I go crazy and not be able to speak?”
Alber looked at me over his glasses and said, “Why wouldn’t they like you? You’re the biggest fangirl I’ve ever seen. And going crazy is something you can control. Just remember—they are normal people, just like you.”
I laughed. “Well, they’re too handsome, perfect, kind, generous, and talented to feel real, so my brain is convinced they’re aliens.”
Just as I was getting lost in my daydreams about meeting them, the announcement for boarding woke me up. I tugged on Alber’s arm, repeating, “Come on, come on!” We boarded the plane and soon landed in Berlin. After arriving at the hotel and dropping off our suitcases, we took a cab straight to Olympiastadion Berlin.
As I looked down at my VIP backstage access and soundcheck ticket, my eyes filled with tears. A bodyguard led us backstage—there was an hour until the concert. We stopped in front of their dressing room. The bodyguard smiled and said, “You may enter whenever you’re ready. You have twenty minutes.”
I took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
The BTS members smiled warmly at me. My eyes burned with tears, but I tried to hold them back. I walked up to Jungkook and he said,
“Hey princess! How are you feeling?”
I burst into tears and he wrapped me in his arms.
“It’s okay to cry,” he said. “Don’t worry, just let it out.”
The other members gathered around us for a group hug. I spent time talking with them, and after I read them my speech, Jungkook stood up and said,
“Look… we don’t do this often. But we were really impressed. So we’ll give you our phone numbers—but don’t ever show them to anyone. Promise?”
My chest tightened, and I nodded quickly.
Then it was time for soundcheck. After watching them practice and cheering my heart out, the concert began. It was the most magical experience of my life. At one point, when the stadium fell silent, I yelled,
“JK, I love youuuuu!”
And he shouted back,
“I love you moreeee!”
I cried many times during and after the concert. When it ended, Alber and I went back to the hotel. I texted the members, “Good job today everybody! You worked hard and the show was amazing! Love you :)”
They replied with thank-you messages and cute stickers. I fell asleep immediately on the hotel bed.
The next morning, when I opened my eyes, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
The BTS members were sitting on my bed, smiling warmly at me.
I tried to speak, but no words came out. Namjoon said,
“You don’t have to say anything. How about spending the day with us instead? What do you say?”
I said, “Of course!!!” and pulled them all into a huge group hug.
