One morning I woke up and heard a voice. It was my cat, Luna. She looked at me and said “Finally you can understand me” I was very surprised. I could talk to animals for one day.
The first thing I wanted to know was what animals think about humans. I asked Luna. She said “You are nice but you always look at your phone. Why don’t you play more” That made me laugh.
Outside I heard birds in a tree. I asked a robin what they were saying. She said “We are talking about where to fly for the winter. It is a big decision” I never thought birds had meetings.
At the park a squirrel ran past me with a nut. He said “I am getting ready for winter. Also, can humans stop moving the trash bins That is where we find food”
Later I went to the zoo. I talked to an old elephant named Sona. She said “I remember my home in the wild. I miss it. Do you remember your childhood” Her words made me feel quiet inside.
In the evening, I sat near a pond. Frogs were making noise. One said “We are singing love songs. Humans do not understand them”
At the end of the day the animal voices stopped. Luna meowed like normal. I could not hear her words anymore but I smiled at her.
That day changed how I see the world. Now I try to listen better. Even if animals cannot talk to me, I know they still have something to say.
