As always, I arrived at school very early, sat at my desk, put my head down, and fell asleep. In my dream, strange things were happening—rockets were flying around, and everything was green. I didn’t know how long I had been sleeping, but when I opened my eyes, I couldn’t believe what I saw.
The classroom was completely empty, but the bell had already rung and classes had started 40 minutes earlier. I walked out into the hallway and heard a strange humming noise. The school was silent, but the humming continued. It felt as if everyone had been there just a moment ago, but now, no one remained.
As I walked around the classrooms, I saw open notebooks, computers still turned on, and steaming cups of coffee sitting on desks. In the science lab, experiment materials and strange substances were left out, as if someone had been using them seconds before.
While I explored the school, it felt like something invisible was following me, matching my steps. When I stopped, the footsteps stopped. When I walked, the footsteps continued. At first, I thought I was imagining it—but no, the sounds were too real. I even heard breathing noises close to me. It was terrifying, but I tried not to cry.
There could only be one explanation: the people in the school hadn’t disappeared by themselves. An invisible force had taken them.
The creaking doors and open windows made me even more nervous. I checked each classroom carefully, hoping to find at least one person, but the whole school felt frozen in time. Whispers came from dark rooms, and footsteps echoed from the staircases. I could barely stop myself from screaming. Finally, I panicked and started running, tears streaming down my face.
As I ran past the Maker’s Classroom, I noticed a red light blinking inside. The computer screen displayed a huge ERROR message. My hands were shaking, but I pressed the X button.
Suddenly—everyone came back.
The students were laughing, teachers were talking, and everything returned to normal as if nothing had happened. The mysterious disappearance was actually caused by a computer malfunction, and all the whispers and footsteps were just the school’s technology glitching.
I couldn’t tell anyone what I had experienced. I decided to keep it a secret.
I fixed the problem, but still… every time I walk down that hallway, my eyes automatically look toward the Maker’s Classroom.
What if one day the red light flashes again?
