As everyone knows approximately 10 years before China was one of the most underrated countries in the whole world by producing low quality stuff like toys, plastics, cell phones. These low-quality China made stuff made us think like China isn’t successful. But nowadays China made a huge revolution in the automobile industry. China has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first country to produce 10 million cars annually and it’s an unbeatable world record. It has two main car brands world-renowned, BYD (Build Your Dreams) and Chery. In this essay I will briefly explain these brands and talk how will they contribute the world.
Firstly, let’s talk about why China is at the top of the automobile industry. Today China is the biggest global exporter of the electric vehicles (EV), following an astonishing 13,300 per cent increase in production between 2017 and 2023, the country has skyrocketed to dominance in the sector. China is accounting for approximately 11.9 billion metric tons of emissions in 2023 alone, the country has been the largest global emitter of CO2 since 2006.
How will China contribute the whole world with the leadership of the electric vehicles? The International Energy Agency estimates that 90% of graphite and 77% of refined rare earths key inputs in EV and battery production will come from China by 2030. The U.S. currently imports 100% of its graphite, with one-third of that supply sourced from China. China says that until year 2030 they will produce a battery that lasts for 1200 km and fills itself nearly in 30 minutes, that’s unimaginable in my opinion. EVs of 2025 charges nearly in 2 hours and it lasts only 500 – 600 km.
Now let’s talk about the revolutionary and impressive car brands of China. Let’s give a start with BYD. Recently it’s the most technologically developed car brand. BYD is founded in November 1994, it’s a high-tech company devoted to leveraging technological innovations for a better life. After more than 30 years of rapid growth, BYD has played a significant role in automobile industry. Between years 2022 – 2023 BYD have sold more than 1.5 million cars. The popular brands like BMW, Mercedes and Audi weren’t even in the top 10 list. Brand BYD offers many types of car models to us; BYD Seal (sports family car), BYD Han (luxury, family car), BYD Atto 3(low budget hatchback car) lastly my favourite BYD Yang Wang (extremely fast developed HyperCard). Secondly, let’s talk about CHERY, The Chery Motor Company was established in Wuhu, China in 1997 Over time, they have made certain improvements to their cars. Today, they offer many pure electric models and a few hybrid models between years 2022 – 2023 company CHERY have sold more than 500.000 cars, that’s a great number but not even close to BYD. Recently CHERY offers 6 car models they are; Omada 5(small sized family SUV), Omada 5 pro (upgraded version of Omada 5), Tigo 7 pro (mid-sized family SUV), Tigo 7 pro max (upgraded version of Tigo 7 pro), Tigo 8 pro (large sized family SUV), Tigo 8 pro max (upgraded version of Tigo 8 pro).
To conclude the country China is many steps ahead from the recent EV industry. The tech that China uses is unimaginable. The annual sales of the car brands of China are way much more than the other countries’ brands. As I said China produced 10 million cars annually. This is an unbeatable record; no brand can come close to this record even if they wanted to. I think that China will contribute the world in a good way and in my opinion, China will rule the world in the future years.
