The Green Sky

One day, green began to fall from the sky instead of blue, and everything changed. At first, people thought it was an illusion—perhaps a strange trick of the sun or some bizarre weather anomaly. But when the emerald droplets landed, they didn’t just vanish like rain. They grew.

Grass sprouted instantly where the drops fell, vines twisted around streetlights, and moss crawled over sidewalks. Within minutes, the concrete jungle of the city began transforming into a living, breathing forest. Cars stalled as roots cracked through the asphalt, and buildings groaned under the weight of creeping ivy.

Anna stood frozen in the middle of the street, watching in awe as the world reshaped itself. Her phone had stopped working the moment the first drop hit the ground. Power lines flickered before being swallowed by leaves, and the air filled with an eerie, humid silence.

A scream snapped her out of her daze. She turned to see a man struggling as a thick green vine wrapped around his ankle, tugging him toward a newly formed thicket.

“Help!” he shouted, clawing at the pavement.

Anna ran toward him, but before she could reach him, the vines tightened and pulled him under. In seconds, he was gone—vanished beneath the growing greenery.

Panic set in. People ran in all directions, trying to escape the relentless expansion of the wild. The city was losing its battle against nature.

Then, a voice echoed in Anna’s mind, soft and ancient: Balance must be restored.

She clutched her head. “Who’s there?”

The wind whispered in response, carrying the scent of earth and rain. As the green continued to spread, Anna realized the truth—this wasn’t just an accident. It was a reset.

And humanity might not be part of the new world.
