THE LİFE-CHANGİNG LETTER

Last Tuesday began like any other, I was working on my laptop trying to finish checking the files my boss sent me. It took me an hour to finish the work. After  I finished, I opened a film and tried to relax after the busy day. After some time the door bell rang. The mailman brought me an old piece of mail which had no adress on it. The handwriting on the front looked unsettlingly familiar. I slowly started to open the mail. When I opened the letter, my eyes widened. It was my handwriting. The letter began simply: “I’m writing to you from twelve years ahead. There’s something you need to know.” I continued reading with curiosity. I felt a chill as I read on. My future self explained that I was standing at the edge of a decision I had been avoiding. The future me told me to quit my boring job and start a creative job like being a fashion designer which is the job of my dreams. I reread the whole letter for 5 times. For an hour I sat at my kitchen table, I thought about the fashion projects I kept shelving, the dreams I convinced myself that ı would be a well-known fashion designer. So I made a decision I can never go back on. I called my fashion designer friend Marissa and told her about my dreams. She knew I had incredible ideas about fashion and she always tried to convince me to start desingning for her brand. After a day, I quit my job and started to work as a designer at Marissa’s brand. I actually studied fashion at university but my lack of confidence gave me a boring job. Now ım standing on my feet all by myself  doing the job I like. Sometimes I feel demotivated ehile designing clothes and start to think that ı gave the wrong decision but I do know that the future won’t change unless I do.Years are going to tell whether I made the right decision. But I have a feeling I did the right thing.
