Every passing day, we see many scientists warning us that global warming is melting the polar ice caps and that we need to take immediate action. But how does this actually affect us? For starters, as icebergs melt all over the world, sea levels will rise over time and flood cities around the globe. The Netherlands, Italy, Indonesia, and several other countries have been suffering from rising water levels. In addition, endangered species whose only habitat is at the poles will gradually go extinct, which will damage our ecosystem. Another issue is that rising temperatures increase the greenhouse effect, making the Earth hotter for everyone. I believe that, to solve this problem, we need to reduce our consumption of products and services that require excessive amounts of water and energy so that the polar ice caps do not continue to melt.
