It had been hours since our last break. We have been running for hours to make them lose our track. The agency has been hunting our technology which is years ahead of now. After some more running, we managed to reach our secret shelter.
A replicated sunlight and sky, a gym to keep fit, a swimming pool, kitchen and our own bedrooms were waiting for us there. We were 5 strong and smart people, I was the leader of our group, there were 2 engineers, a guy named Jack who was a neurologist, a guy named Stephan who was the chief advisor of the president of the USA,and we were called as “The Empire”. After WW3 (World War 3) started, some groups, like us, started to emerge. While the war was still happening, these groups tried to stop the war because they realized that if the war goes like that, in a few months the Earth will be destroyed and no life will be able to exist there. They tried to stop the war with ethical ways at first, their greatest support was from the people who loved to live and their biggest evidence was that no one knew who started the war first. Every country was giving the name of another country which they were arguing with. After trying every whey they could, they saw that nobody would listen to them and they started to gather resources necessary to live such as water, farm animals and crops. Each of them made their own shelter and a center one that everyone has a secret passage to and one of those shelters was ours. After we reached there, we wrapped our bruises and cuts with bandages and ate a good meal. Then, everyone gathered in the living room to watch some DVD’s. It was about the WW2. Telling that the thing that the USA did was completely correct and Japan deserved that. Everyone wanted to change the film but one of us didn’t, Steph. “I was the one who advised the president to send a nuke to Japan which was the quickest way we had.” He said. He did not hesitate even a single moment while saying that. A debate started between the group and I left the room first, the others followed me since only Steph left watching the movie. I was so angry that I accidentally went to Steph’s room instead of mine. I lied on the bed, opened the drawer and found a letter there. Without knowing it wasn’t mine, I started to read that “Dear President, The world is in the edge of a new global war. My advice to you is,order one of the military bases in the UK and fire a missile to Europe. That way, you will start a war as the UK. And because you are the world leader country, everyone will want you in their group which will end up with us getting everything we want.” I couldn’t believe my eyes, Steph the one I believed and loved the most was responsible from one of the biggest destructions. I quickly put the letter in my pocket and left the room without losing any time to start the alarms to bring the security guards here.
Everything turned red, the based locked itself. Everyone gathered in the living room again, however with fear in their faces now. Within seconds, the security guards came, the leader of the main base with them. The lights turned to normal, based opened, guards came to the living room asking “Is there any problem in The Empire?”, “Yes” I responded. Everyone including the leader got shocked. I pointed Steph with my eyes and made a gesture which meant to arrest him. In an instance, the guards did the job and Steph started to shout that he did not do anything. Without letting the leader to say anything, I handed the letter to him and he quickly read it. He shook his head, stating that he understood. He told me that I made the right decision with reporting him even if he was my closest friend, he also told me not to be sad. I couldn’t sleep that night, so I woke up and went to the kitchen. I found some gifts with adult juice* with them. I grabbed some and started to watch films. I don’t remember the rest. “The END”
