THE RACE DAY

My name is Lyla, and I love running. I have 3 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals. My life was like a dream until last Thursday. Let me tell you what happened. I had a very important race that day, and I was preparing for it. While I was stretching, a girl from another team came and twisted my ankle. My coach came and asked if I could still race, and I said I could.
When the time came, I took a deep breath, and when the timer started, I ran with all my strength. I was racing against the seconds, and just when I was hoping for a miracle, I crossed the finish line first. I couldn’t believe my eyes!
My coach came and said he was so proud of me. I was happy, but my ankle was hurting so much. We went to the hospital, and we learned that my ankle was broken. The doctor said I wouldn’t be able to run for a year. I was very sad, but there was nothing I could do…
