The alarms were blaring loudly and everything was failing inside of the spaceship. This mission were supposed to be the most important mission and everything were supposed to go according to the plan, the first mission to Proxima B. Something have went so wrong during the trip. An uncalculated meteorite have hit one of the engines and destroyed half of the system.
The spaceship was about to crash in a few minutes, and I was the only one aboard. I had several tries at communicating with the world, but the communication systems are significantly damaged, and I was totally isolated here. I wondered to myself if just maybe an escape pod remained, so I could wait for help. I was swiftly checking everywhere for the pod. I was racing against the time, and just when I wished for a miracle to happen, something really surprising happened: the alarms were silenced, and all panels were back to normal. Then everything was blurred, and I was feeling really dizzy.
I woke up from a small white pod that was already opened, and several unattached cables were beside me. There were no spaceships or stars, but only a small room. Someone spoke in the room: “How interesting…”. I got up from the pod, and there was a man in some weird suit. He offered me to sit in front of him and said: “Congratulations on finishing the simulation, and now I am honoured to tell you that you are now ready to enter the real world.”. I stuttered: “Simulation, what simulation? What do you mean by the real world?”. He told me that the whole mission and my whole life were just a part of a test, just to qualify to enter the real world. This was ridiculous, did he just mean that everything that had happened during all my life, all my friendships, all my family, were just a part of this test? The man said, “The new world awaits you. Welcome home, Yaman”. He opened a door at the end of the room, and behind the door was a really bright white light. I realized that the journey did not end, but just had started.
