If I had the chance to time travel, I would like to go back to our Nation’s Independence War years.
I would travel to Samsun with Atatürk to start our nation’s salvation from the enemies.
But before that, I would upgrade the ferry we were going with! During the journey, I would talk to Atatürk about the enemy countries’ tactics. When we arrived in Samsun, I would witness Atatürk’s speech at the congress and support his ideas about our nation’s future and the war. The congress raised awareness all around the country.
Then, I would accompany Atatürk to travel to other cities such as Sivas and Erzurum.
After these congresses, the people of Türkiye decided to defend our country all together.
I would share their excitement and bravery.
The last city we would visit is Ankara.
Ankara was a small town back then, but Atatürk decided to set the parliament there.
It was a strategic choice because Ankara is in the middle of Türkiye and close to all battlefields.
When we arrived in Ankara on December 27, 1919, a huge crowd welcomed us.
It was an unforgettable moment in history.
