Visit to the Museum

Anıtkabir (literally, “memorial tomb”) is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader of the Turkish War of Independence and the founder and first President of the Republic of Turkey. It is located in Ankara.

Last weekend, my classmates and I went to a museum about the foundation of the Republic of Türkiye. I was really excited because I like learning about history. The museum was big and modern, and there were many interesting things to see. My favorite part was the old photos and Atatürk’s personal stuff; they made me feel like I was living in that time.

However, not everything was perfect. The museum was very crowded, so sometimes I couldn’t read the information clearly. Also, the air inside was a bit hot, which made it uncomfortable after a while.

Even with these problems, I really enjoyed the trip. I learned a lot about our country and had fun with my friends. I think everyone should visit this museum at least once in their life to understand how the Republic started.
