Was It Really A Dream?

This morning started like every other morning. I woke up to my alarm at 10.00 a.m. and got ready for the day. After that, I went to the kitchen to have breakfast. After I was done eating, my mom asked me to take the trash outside, and she told me to pick up the mail while I was at it. When I opened the mailbox, there was a letter that particularly stood out, a big envelope with my name written on it in capital letters. I took all the mail and left it at the kitchen counter. Before going back to my room, I grabbed that envelope, not knowing that what was written on that paper would change my whole life and also my beliefs.

When I opened it, the name instantly caught my eye; it was my name. The problem was that the date was showing today, exactly 10 years later. I did not remember writing this, and I just thought someone was pulling a useless prank on me, but something felt real, too real. I started reading the letter. It was written to me, by me, from me in 10 years. The future version of myself kept telling me that soon I would need to make a life-changing decision, and I should choose the hard choice. The choice that makes me push my limits the most instead of the easy path that I will be given. It did not make any sense, none of it did. I thought to myself that I should immediately come back to my senses and that there was no way that this was real, but my gut feeling was way too strong in this situation.

I heard a sound, an alarm sound. I opened my eyes, and there I was, lying on my bed. It was 10 a.m., and the date was the same. Then my mom called me to the kitchen. Soon, I realized I was living the exact same day. When my mom told me to take the trash and get the mail, I ran towards the mailbox. That mail from future me was nowhere to be found. I came back inside with tons of questions running through my head. Was it all my imagination, or was it some kind of message? Only time will have the answer to my question…
