Why are you wearing what you are waering right now? Is it because it fits you, is it comfortable or did it just scream you?
A lot of the people who go shopping don’t realise what they’re wearing is how people are perceiving them. You might think thats not true, not everyone judges book by their covers. If you see someone wearing a hoodie and jeans, you will think that person is either comfortable, lazy or up to no good. It might differ based on how they stand in the clothes. Your thoughts will be completely different if you see someone in an elegant dress or a suit. What you wear is a way of telling people what they should think about you without having to open your mouth.
Everyday before you pick an outfit you think. You might not hesitate before you put on your uniform but you do. That tells people you are a student or a worker ready to do what you’re supposed to do. Though it is unlikely you will put on that uniform on the weekend because that outfit won’t represent you anymore. You will pick a dress if you’re going to a wedding, you’ll pick a suit if you’re going to an MUN or you’ll just throw on a t-shirt and jeans to get coffee with your friends.
Clothes we wear might vary depending on the occasion but not everybody wears the same clothes to the same event either. For example, my friend loves crops an shorts so that’s what she’ll probably wear in summer when she’s meeting me. I love skorts and tank tops so that’s what I’ll probably wear. It might not be obvious but our choice if clothing tells a lot about us. Now because my friend loves crops and shorts and those are what are popular you can assume she likes to follow trends. Also because you know I like skorts you can guess I like to move around. Our style shapes with our personalitys.
What we wear is important to us because it’s a way of expressing what we like, what we feel or what we’re going to do.
