WHO SHOULD OWN PETS?

A personal decision that individuals make is owning a pet. How can we understand if someone should keep a pet or not?
Pets are  a source of stress relief and a means of improving one’s mental and physical wellness. Very few people view pets as tools for teaching the kinds of life lessons that require responsibility, patience, and the understanding that one must sometimes make personal sacrifices for the good of another.

Nevertheless, maintaining pets takes time, energy, and money. Expenses can run high for vet bills, nutrition, and grooming. The more demanding species need constant supervision and almost as much training as a child. When you add up the time and the opportunity costs, you start to see what a significant lifelong commitment keeping any animal demands.

In the end, deciding to have a pet really comes down to whether a person can give the proper care a pet needs. A pet is more than just a plaything; it is a commitment for many years. So pets should only be kept by people that are ready to commit.
